Twins vs. Stinky Yankees
Today, Mike, Jennifer, and Nathan went to see the Twins play the Yankees for the 3rd and final game of the series in Minneapolis. We went with our friends and preschool classmates Porter and Dominic Ball and their parents, and 2 of our neighbors, Nick and Will O.
The Stinky Yankees lived up to their reputations and did just enough with their incredibly LARGE payroll to beat the Twins 6 to 4. Darn it!
Nathan and I talked about who Matthew would have routed for, he said emphatically "The TWINS!" and I whole heartedly agreed. But those stinky Yankees foiled all of our wishes. Darn it!
It reminded me of our trip to Yankee stadium last August, and I so missed Matthew's commentary and statement of "facts" as we drove in the minivan to the game, and I longed for his interest and intensity during the game. He has been gone 7 months. The days pass, "do to" items are crossed off the list, laundry is made dirty and then made clean, work is done, bills are paid, and still as "life" is live, he is missed. and discussed. and longed for. and remembered.
